#fromwhereIsit in Philadelphia
This is my view.
Sunset in Philadelphia on the 20th of May, 2015. Why am I here? As some would say, it’s because I travel for a living. But not really. I spread the Gospel for a living. How? I travel throughout the USA and the world promoting visitation to a live theatre venue in the middle of Amish-country, Pennsylvania.
My business card says, “Business Development Manager” for Sight & Sound Theatres®, but my primary mission is to develop relationships that lead to new and renewed business, which leads to the Gospel of Jesus being sewn into the hearts of guests from around the globe. And I love every minute of it.
Because I travel nearly 100 days a year, I’ve had the opportunity to experience unique locations, cuisines and cultures. Both friends and family have suggested that I keep a travel journal. I made an attempt at it once during my first trip to Hartford, CT for Friendship Tours travel show. That’s where the journal began and ended. Recently, a close relative suggested a blog instead. My concern in making this blog public is that a cross-section of those who read it might think, “He’s in sales because he loves to travel.” I’m here to affirm that statement. If I didn’t love to travel, I would be horrible at this career, and a direct impact could be seen in the number of international guests visiting our theatres.
Yes, this blog will share imagery and chronicles from the places in which I’m blessed to spend moments of my lifetime. More so, my hope is that the insights I gain “on the road” will be food for thought for the friends and family that support this unique “workstyle” (made that one up) as well as the mission of Sight & Sound Theatres.
It’s 8:25pm. There are 100 of the top selling United Kingdom travel agents staying in this very hotel. In 90 minutes I will begin building relationships with them at the Eastern State Penitentiary (yes, it’s actually a tourism attraction). The event will conclude at 1:00am tomorrow morning, and the sales marketplace breakfast will begin only seven short hours later.
Thank you for joining me.
Welcome to the world #fromwhereisit

Congratulations on launching the blog, Nathan! I’m looking forward to learning about the world from your experience and world view. How wonderful to have a career that you love and that allows you to very actively live your mission as a Christian…the perfect combo. Can’t wait to learn from your “workstyle”…And, yes, I also believe it is entirely acceptable/admirable to make up words that aren’t currently available in the English language! Blessings on this new venture.

Thank you for the encouragement, Brenda. The formatting and content will be ever-evolving I’m sure. One has to begin somewhere!
Cheers!
