October Plans
“We can make our own plans, but the LORD gives the right answer. People may be pure in their own eyes, but the LORD examines their motives. Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.”
Proverbs 16:1-3 NLT
I’ve been rising at 5:30am for over a week now. My goal is to move it back to 5am at some point, but my body is still adjusting to 5:30! I’ve been using these early morning hours to study scripture, read Michael Hyatt’s Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World, and create a bit of margin at the beginning of my work days. I’ve never claimed to be a “morning person,” but I really am enjoying these quiet moments. And today, I’m squeezing in this short blog post as well.
One of the verses I read this morning was Proverbs 16:1-3. It made me think how often we try to “plan” our days, our weeks, our lives. If we are honest, there are times we think we can plan someone else’s life- our child, spouse or friend. Often our plans are rooted in a good heart and pure motives, but God’s Word says without committing our actions to the Lord, success may remain just out of reach! How frustrating might that be? Have you experienced the feeling of being so close to achieving that big goal, and yet somehow, it falls through?
So what are your plans for today? What do you want to accomplish in October? Commit it to God, and see how he works on your behalf! Be ready to experience success in a new way.
